I hate it too but I don’t think everyone ascribes the same connotation to crackship as maybe you and I do.  To me, to call something a crackship implies that to ship it is “cracky” and that it’ll never happen because it’s THAT ridiculous…something along those lines.  I prefer to call my non-canon ships “unconvential couples” or UCs for short.

However, I believe that a lot of people use the term crackship and basically mean UC.  To them, the two terms are synonymous.  They don’t use it as a slight in anyway.

I still much prefer UC to “crackship” though.  I just really don’t like the term.
